Welcome to the Enid Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution website. Located in northwest Oklahoma, the Enid Chapter is proud of the traditions and heritage to be found through membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and through our Oklahoma State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (OSDAR). We honor our blood lineage to the founding patriots who fought and served this great nation by continuing to support patriotic values, education, and recognition for those who continue to defend the values of this great nation both past and present.
Enid Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, perpetuates the memory and spirit of American independence; promotes education; and fosters patriotism in the Enid, Oklahoma community. The Enid Chapter meets on the Thursday of Constitution Week in September of each year and then monthly October through June on the first Thursday of the month.
Spirit and Patriotism
The Enid Chapter is proud of America's heritage, particularly the sacrifices made by those Oklahoma natives who have given the last full measure of devotion in service to their nation. Enid's Doughboy statue was dedicated by the chapter on July 4, 1924, to honor military veterans.
Since then, the chapter has undertaken several projects to recognize veterans and the rich history of northwest Oklahoma. These projects include the dedication of a historical marker in Enid's Government Springs Park, which marks a watering hole used by travelers on the Chisholm Trail. In 2013, an 80% replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall was dedicated at Woodring Airport. Our local DAR contributed toward this major installation. In 2014-2015 we support the building of The Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park Education Center to preserve the legacy of the men and women who have served our nation over the years.
National and State Directions
The motto for the NSDAR is quite simple ... "God, Home, and Country." With each administration a new element of emphasis may arise, but the heart of our organization remains focused on these three simple words. The current focus is "Celebrate Stars and Stripes Forever."
Our OSDAR theme is "Preserve Protect Prosper" with an emphasis on educating and preparing future generations. Recognizing that all areas of involvement fulfilling our mission from recruiting new members to honoring our veterans and from genealogical research to community volunteering result in countless blessings to all involved, Enid Chapter is excited to be a part of the DAR legacy that continues to flourish and grow ... remembering our past and looking to the future!
